We love shopping, and by extension, shopping apps. There. We said it. Now you know.
It’s just so easy to pick up the smartphone, click, browse, buy, and have things magically appear at the door that we can’t get enough of it. And “we” in this case means the entire world.
This explains the special love we show to PYMNTS Provider Ranking of Shopping Apps, where some of biggest names in app retailing rub elbows with their aspiring competitors in a friendly environment where nobody wins or loses — they just change ranks. But it is a pretty big deal.
On that note, let’s investigate changes that have taken place since last cycle.
The Top 5
At No. 1 (where it’s reliably found) we’ve got the seemingly unbeatable SHEIN app. Just wow.
Right behind them at No. 2 as last month it’s Amazon, eyeing that No. 1 spot hungrily.
The Walmart app holds steady at No. 3, with Walmart+ members getting early access to Black Friday deals again this year. That’s what you call a benefit of membership.
The AliExpress Shopping App sticks at No. 4 with no apparent difficulty.
Speaking of apps starting with “Ali” we’ve got a new entrant to the Top 5. It’s Alibaba.com, entering the Top 5 at No. 5. Welcome. We’ve been expecting you. Everyone’s in the jacuzzi.
The Top 10
Below the Top 5 line we’ve got some interesting comings and goings this time around.
First up is the Nike app, dropping one spot and out of the Top 5. They’ll be back.
Fetch Rewards shows its resilience in another ranking, keeping its No. 7 spot safe.
Same story with eBay, holding down the No. 8 chart position for another month.
Then, just when you thought it was going to be same old, same old, two big changes.
Moving up one spot to No. 9 this cycle it’s Swedish sensation IKEA. The company may be dealing with supply chain shortages, but that’s clearly not impacting its ranking.
Last but by no means least, the Etsy app makes its debut in the Provider Ranking of Shopping Apps at No. 10. This is another shopping app we’ve been waiting for around here, knowing it was only a matter of time. And it was.
Welcome, Etsy. Best of luck in the shopping app rankings. As all can see, it’s lively.
