The menu of shows has been rearranged a bit this month, as several contenders move up a spot and a new player enters the top 10 in the PYMNTS Provider Ranking of Streaming Apps.
With a tie making room for one more, the list has grown this month. Now, let’s binge watch the top 10 and enjoy a bonus episode, since 11 contenders earned a spot among the top tier this month.
The Top 5
Still in the No. 1 spot is Netflix. This app has 158 million paid memberships and it’s doing well in the PYMNTS rankings too.
Close behind in the second spot, like last month, is YouTube.
There’s been a change of programming in the third ranking, though, with Amazon Prime Video leaping two spots and landing at No. 3.
It has to share that location, though, because Spotify climbed up one spot from last month and is now also sitting at No. 3.
Disney+ passed them along the way as it shifted down one level to be ranked fourth.
Rounding out the top tier of this elite group is Pluto TV — Live TV and Movies, which has edged up one spot from where it was in last month’s list.
The Top 10
Hulu is also on the move, ascending one level and now resting at No. 6.
Following the others on the way up is Amazon Music. Like our previous two contestants, this music streaming platform has improved its location in the rankings by one since last month. It’s now ranked seventh.
And that’s not the only one. Twitch, too, has stepped up a spot since last time and is now sitting in the eighth position.
Next in line among all the streaming apps moving up in the rankings is Funimation. It too has advanced one level since last month to No. 9.
Finally, closing out the Top 10 is a new member, CBS — Full Episodes And Live TV. This app enables users to stream full episodes of shows the day after they air for free, and they can unlock additional features if they subscribe to CBS All Access.
Let’s welcome this new member to this elite group and congratulate the others as well as we close out this month’s PYMNTS Provider Ranking of Streaming Apps.
