With holiday travel and shopping nearing, discounts are surely on consumers’ minds. With the price of gas and other commodities, coupon apps can certainly add to the good cheer.
Saving money is always appreciated, and that shows in this month’s PYMNTS Provider Ranking of Coupon Apps. Nine of the apps that were ranked in the top 10 last month are here again this month. It seems they’re doing the job right.
So, read on, and find the top-of-the-class apps that can stretch your dollars.
The Top Five
As noted last time, when people fall in love with apps, they stick with them.
That’s certainly the case with Groupon. The marketplace is holding firm to the top spot.
Honey Smart Shopping Assistant is running right behind again this month in the second-place ranking.
That spot is shared this month, though. In one of the few changes in ranking this month, Ibotta moves up from sharing the No. 3 spot to sharing the No. 2 spot.
GoodRX gains a position, too, advancing from being ranked fourth last time to being ranked third this month.
One contender remaining in the top 10 dipped in the ratings this month, and that’s Flipp. It stepped down from the third spot to No. 4. Maybe they’ll turn it around next time.
Rounding out the top five is GasBuddy. Finding real-time fuel prices is a handy service as people look to travel during the holidays.
The Top 10
Four of the five apps in the second tier of our rankings were here last month, too. Like we said, if consumers find that it works, why change?
In the sixth spot, we have Rakuten Rewards, in the same position as it held last month.
Receipt Hog keeps the seventh position all to itself.
The eighth position is again held by Shopkick. Its users earn rewards in the form of “kicks,” and no one’s kicking the app out of the No. 8 spot.
ShopSavvy, too, keeps a grip on the position it held last month, still ranked No. 9. It knows what it’s doing when it comes to finding products and deals.
In the final spot, we have a new entrant into the top 10. Checkout 51 provides consumers with a digital means of performing coupon redemptions through smartphone-enabled receipt scanning technology. Check ‘em out and welcome them to this elite group.
