Bargain hunting is always a competition, and that’s certainly true in the PYMNTS Provider Ranking of Coupon Apps. There’s been a lot of movement among the competitors, although one of last month’s leaders remains in the top spot.
In these rankings, the best deal is determined by scoring factors that include channel coverage, up-to-date downloads, monthly average users, sessions per user and average session length.
The Top Five
Driving the hardest bargain this month is Groupon, which holds on to the top spot with a score of 89. This app was here last month too but had to share the position.
Not far off the leader’s pace with a score of 85 is Ibotta. This app has leapt from the fifth position last time to No. 2 in the latest ranking.
Just one point behind with a score of 84 is Honey Smart Shopping Assistant. This app shared the top spot in the rankings last month but has slipped to third.
Also slipping a bit is Flipp. After holding the third position last time, this app now sits at No. 4. It shares the spot with GoodRX, which was here last time too. Both earned a score of 80.
Next up is GasBuddy. It holds the No. 5 spot in the ranking, as it did last month.
The Top 10
At the sixth level in the rankings, we have Rakuten Rewards. This app has slid four levels and landed at No. 6.
Next up is Receipt Hog, which has inched down one level from last time and now sits at No. 7.
In eighth place, we have Shopkick. It shared this spot with two other apps last month but now has it all to itself.
Appearing next is ShopSavvy. This app has stepped down two spots from last time and now holds the ninth position.
Following that lead is Slickdeals, which is down two positions as well. This app was ranked eighth last month but rounds out our top 10 this time.
