As you might expect, the spirit of competition runs pretty high among fitness apps. In the latest edition of the PYMNTS Provider Ranking of Fitness Apps, there’s been quite a bit of shifting of positions since last time as members of the Top 10 aim to improve their scores.
It’s a tight race this time around, with three of the contenders just one point behind the app in front of them. Let’s tighten our laces, get moving and see what’s happening in this month’s Top 10.
The Top 5
In the top spot, with a score of 93, we have an app that’s apparently been hitting the gym. FitCoach, which was ranked fifth last month, has improved its score by 10 points and has leapt all the way to No. 1.
Another gainer is Planet Fitness Workouts. This app has stepped up one level from last time and now ranked second with a score of 90.
Close behind with a score of 89 is Workouts By Muscle Booster. This app, which was the champion last month, has edged down to the No. 3 spot.
Next up in the pack, and not far behind with a score of 88, is MyFitnessPal. This app was ranked second last time but has fallen back to fourth in this tight race.
Continuing the trend, there’s another contender only one point behind the app in front of it. With a score of 87, Sweatcoin Walking Step Counter slips one level in the rankings and now rests at No. 5.
The Top 10
As we enter the second tier of the top 10, we have this month’s only tied score. FitOn, which was ranked sixth last month, and Strava, which was fifth, now share the No. 6 position with scores of 78.
Next up and ranked seventh we have Nike Training Club. This app has gained one level in the rankings since last time.
Following right behind and also moving up one step in the rankings is Map My Run By Under Armour. This app now rests at No. 8.
At ninth in the rankings we have Runkeeper — GPS Running Tracker, which has slipped two levels from the seventh spot it held last time around.
Rounding out the Top 10 we have Daily Workouts Fitness Trainer, which held this spot last month too.
