The top three restaurant ordering apps are once again sharing the gold medal in this month’s edition of the PYMNTS Provider Ranking of Mobile Order-Ahead Apps.
This monthly ranking, based on a proprietary combination of publicly available information and app usage data to which PYMNTS has access, reveals which mobile order-ahead apps are improving over time and which are slipping.
The Top 5
Domino’s Pizza, Taco Bell and Starbucks remain tied at No. 1, each with a score of 96.
Similarly, the Dunkin’ and Panera Bread apps held constant at No. 2 with a score of 95.
Plus, Burger King and Pizza Hut also remain tied at No. 3 with a score of 91.
There was, however, some shakeup in fourth place. While Chick-fil-A has held steady at No. 4 with a score of 90, Wingstop has fallen from No. 4 to No. 5 with a score of 89, where it is tied with one of last month’s fifth-place picks, McDonald’s.
The Top 10
Chipotle and Sonic remain tied at No. 6, holding their score of 87.
Yet, one of last month’s fifth place picks, Papa John’s Pizza, has fallen to No. 7, its score decreasing by three points to 86.
Sheetz has been bumped from its No. 7 spot down to No. 8, but its score has risen from 81 to 83.
Plus, Subway has fallen from No. 8 to No. 9, but its score has risen from 78 to 80.
Last month’s ninth place pick, Shake Shack, closes out the ranking at No. 10, with its score rising two points to 78, replacing former tenth place pick Blaze Pizza, which has slid all the way down to No. 14.
Check back next month to see if some of the lower-ranked restaurants can make their way into the top 10 or if any of the frontrunners end up losing ground.
