Verizon 5G Business Internet is now available in 24 cities across the U.S., Verizon Business announced in a press release Thursday (April 15), after adding 21 new cities to the service.
The service is available in three speeds — 100, 200 and 400 megabits per second — to small- to medium-sized businesses (SMBs) as well as large enterprises, the release stated.
“5G Business Internet, an alternative to cable, leverages Verizon’s 5G Ultra Wideband technology as the connectivity backbone to run your entire business, from point-of-sales systems to employee productivity devices,” according to the release.
The service was already live in parts of Chicago, Houston and Los Angeles. On Thursday, Verizon added “parts of Anaheim, Atlanta, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Dallas, Denver, Detroit, Indianapolis, Kansas City [Missouri], Las Vegas, Miami, Minneapolis, Phoenix, Sacramento, Salt Lake City, San Diego, San Francisco, San Jose, St. Louis, and St. Paul, with parts of Riverside-Corona, California, becoming available on April 22,” the release stated.
Verizon LTE Business Internet is available in cities that do not have access to the company’s 5G service yet, according to the release. And the telecom company will keep adding new cities to the 5G service on a rolling basis.
“We’ll continue to expand the 5G Business Internet footprint and bring the competitive pricing, capability and flexibility of our full suite of products and services to more and more businesses all over the country,” said Verizon Business CEO Tami Erwin in the release.
Verizon has been pushing forward with its 5G development for some time now, announcing in January that at the end of 2020, the company had expanded its regular 5G service to a total of 2,700 cities, reaching 230 million people.
“We’re not slowing down,” said Verizon Chief Technology Officer Kyle Malady at the time. “We’re rolling out new services to more customers continuing the digital transformation Verizon has been driving.”
5G is one of many digital experiences that has helped businesses survive the pandemic, and, for some, innovate and thrive.
According to a Verizon Business survey that was done in collaboration with Morning Consult, 69 percent of business decision makers said 5G will help their companies overcome negative impacts brought on by the pandemic, the Thursday release stated.
