WiredBenefits, a leading provider of prepaid healthcare solutions, has launched the Employer Benefit Suite, an innovative, turnkey platform that enables employers to offer low cost, secure, and convenient benefits to their employees. The WiredBenefits Employer Benefit Suite is the first product to provide tax advantaged health care funds via a Health Reimbursement Account (HRA), flexible benefits options, and payroll cards delivered and managed through a simple, paperless, single sign-on web-based platform.
“We are pleased to be able to offer a viable, cost-effective option not only for employers who want to offer health benefits to their employees and cannot afford traditional insurance, but also for those with a large number of part-time, temporary, or ‘under banked’ workers – 30 to 40 million of whom in the U.S. do not have a bank account,” said Charles Marshall, CEO of WiredBenefits. “The WiredBenefits Employer Benefit Suite minimizes cost and red tape, while maximizing access and convenience for employers and employees alike.”
Employers can load pre-tax money onto a reloadable WiredBenefits HRA debit card on a flexible, month-to-month basis. The benefit also offers supplemental insurance options, including life policies and access to medical networks. The card can be used to purchase over 100,000 over-the-counter products, at most providers, drugstores and clinics. As an additional option, wages can also be deposited onto a prepaid payroll debit card via direct deposit, allowing employees immediate access to their funds at ATMs and retail locations where VISA is accepted.
Both cards are supported by the Administrative Web Platform, which allows employers to manage their programs very simply on the website, including adding or deleting employees; ordering, and assigning deposits to, the healthcare and payroll cards; and offering rewards and digital coupons. Employees can access their balances and relevant documents through the My Account website, and choose to participate in rewards and coupon programs at no additional cost. The website creates and stores all documents, provides downloadable copies of all relevant regulations and documentation, and answers all important questions.
“WiredBenefits’ Employer Benefit Suite provided a very easy-to-administer, low cost and highly flexible HRA offering for our employees. It was the most efficient way to provide health benefits for all our employees that satisfied our compliance needs,” said Debbie Nagel, Director of Administration at DN Security. The company is one of many facing the challenge of meeting a minimum health care expenditure requirement for employees per the San Francisco Health Care Security Ordinance, which went into effect in 2008. “In the current economic environment the tax-advantaged funds, combined with a paperless, web-based system were ideal for our needs and focus on keeping costs under control.”
“With employers facing significant cost and time pressures due to rising healthcare and benefit costs and the confusing and complicated regulatory environment, the Employer Benefit Suite offers an efficient way for employers to provide benefits to their employees,” added Marshall. “While the country awaits a decision on healthcare reform, we are striving to be part of the solution.”
