Natural Security Launches Authentication Standards Body

A coalition of major banks, retailers, vendors and payments providers have launched a new organization called the Natural Security Alliance (NSA) and elected a governing board for that body, according to a November 18 press release.

    The goal of the NSA is to promote the adoption of biometric technology by the payments industry.

    “To encourage and support widespread adoption of this authentication method, we believe that the specifications need to be shared with industry stakeholders and development continued based on their requirements and input,” Cedric Hozanne, the NSA’s CEO said in a November 18 statement. “Creating an open Alliance is now the perfect way for us to build an ecosystem that can achieve this.”
