Stripe has added a new payouts feature allowing marketplace businesses to “programmatically” send bank transfers to U.S. bank accounts.
Companies such as Lyft, Sidecar and Exec have trialed the payout option, which is geared towards businesses that want to pay a “multiplicity of suppliers,” per Stripe’s press release.
The payouts API is available in the U.S. now and Stripe is “working on support for other countries.” Stripe charges a flat fee of $0.25 per transaction.
