Walgreens, the major U.S. pharmacy, is looking to revamp its digital infrastructure to encourage spending across all its commerce channels, Internet Retailer reported.
Jason Fei, the Illinois-based company’s director of eCommerce, told the media outlet that by shifting to a centrally managed platform from Oracle ATG, it will be able to build a feature once and make it available to customers through any digital channel. The pharmacy currently does not have this capability.
Fei said this represented a shift from the company’s browser-first approach to eCommerce, one that will aim to encourage more consumers to visit Walgreens stores.
