During the holiday season last year, Perry Ellis released Starmount‘s mobile app for selling and customer engagement in 60 stores. It was recently announced that by doing this, the average amount of transactions increased by 14 percent.
“Over the 2013 holiday season, our stores experienced an average transaction amount that was higher when using Starmount Engage, compared to traditional POS registers,” Luis Paez, CIO of Perry Ellis International said.
The company wants to add additional capabilities to its mobile app which would include the ability for associates to access detailed product information.
Starmount will also be providing a loyalty program that will allow associates to retrieve customer profiles on mobile devices, enroll new customers in the program and update customer contact information.
