On Black Friday, with Walmart’s guarantees, customers who stood in line for the entirety of a designated offer got the deal, Neil Ashe, the megaretailer’s president and CEO of global eCommerce, told CNN Money in a Jan. 7 report.
If the item wasn’t in stock, they were promised delivery before Christmas, he said in the interview. Many consumers, however, don’t want to go through the hassle of dealing with such crowds.
Ashe joined Wal-Mart in 2012, and his job is to make eCommerce central to the company, which will become important this year as consumers pay less attention to the difference between buying something online and buying it off the shelf.
