For the third year in a row, Nordstrom has been ranked as the top fashion retailer by consumers.
According to a study by Market Force Information, the fashion retail mainstay is followed by Kohl’s, T.J. Maxx, Macy’s and Dillard’s in customer satisfaction.
The Market Force study also revealed that Foot Locker is the consumers’ favorite among shoe retailers, followed by Sketcher, Nike, DSW and Famous Footwear. In the realm of digital retail, Target has the highest mobile app adoption rate, followed by H&M, Wal-Mart, Nordstrom and Kohl’s.
More than 4,300 consumers nationwide were polled for the December 2014 study, which was designed to suss out consumers’ favorite fashion and shoe retailers, as well as the factors that most commonly affect their shopping experience.
Although Nordstrom came out on top in the survey, Market Force found that more than half (57 percent) of the consumers polled described themselves as “less than delighted” by their most recent visit to the chain. This would indicate that there is still much room for improvement in customer satisfaction.
Said Cheryl Flink, chief strategy officer for Market Force: “Our research is telling us that for a retailer, being good just isn’t good enough. In order to move the needle in an industry where several retailers are clustered closely in the ‘good enough’ zone, brands must strive to utterly delight their customers across many attributes in order to rise above the noise and win wallet share.”
