London-based Powa Technologies announced yesterday (March 30) that it is teaming up with Merchant e-Solutions — a card processing company headquartered in the U.S. — to help independent software vendors (ISVs) bring their apps to market. As PowaPOS is designed specifically for tablet-based payments, that will be a particular focus of the joint venture, in the U.S. as well as in Latin America.
“We share Merchant e-Solutions vision for ‘simplifying payments’ — for us, this means providing advanced tablet-based hardware and a single SDK to support POS applications across all three operating systems,” said Jeff Dumbrell, CEO of PowaPOS. “With Merchant e-Solutions’ global reach and technology infrastructure, this partnership will allow both companies to grow their businesses and provide ISV partners, particularly in the U.S. and Latin America, with leading solutions to get their apps to market faster and easier.”
Powa notes in the press release that PowaPOS is the only fully integrated design that currently incorporates all standard retail peripherals and supports POS software across iOS, Android and Windows. The company adds that PowaPOS integrates with all POS software applications as well as PowaTag, its proprietary mobile commerce enablement app.
“PowaPOS has a unique position in the tablet-based payments market right now. Its fully integrated hardware and universal OS support makes it particularly attractive to POS software developers and to us,” said Tom Bell, CEO of Merchant e-Solutions. “By partnering together, we’ll be able to provide developers with the best payments processing and hardware solutions on the market today.”
