Windows 10 Retail Packaging Design Gets Leaked

Two weeks away from its official launch date, leaked images of the upcoming Windows 10’s retail package are making rounds online.

The new retail packaging would reportedly feature the latest “light-powered” wallpaper, which reimagines light flowing through two windowpanes in a still image. The latest cover design that appears in darker color tones is a deviation from the designs that Microsoft has picked in the last few years.

The company is also producing the USB drive copies of Windows 10 with a rather simplistic design of blue and purple windows, according to The Verge.

As the company moves towards introducing new software releases, the boxed versions would soon become a collector’s item.

According to sources, the Windows 10 version might as well end up being the last to be sold in boxes as the company moves towards a “Windows as a service” model, which would allow users to download Windows online.

Though Microsoft is launching Windows 10 on July 29, the boxed versions of the OS won’t be available until later this year, The Verge reported.
