MasterCard has acquired Provus, an independent payment processor based in Turkey, the payment card network announced.
Neither MasterCard nor Provus disclosed the terms of the sale. Founded in 2001, Provus is based in Istanbul. The acquisition is designed to strengthen MasterCard’s presence in the region.
“The acquisition of Provus enables MasterCard to continue developing innovative solutions to add value to our customers, and (it) increases our processing presence in Europe,” Javier Perez, MasterCard Europe president, said in a statement.
