It’s only recently that the market has really paid attention to Apple’s enterprise operations and the success it has found in the workplace. While the rise in BYOD adoption has fueled the use of iPads and iPhones at the office, the company’s recent, rare disclosure of some figures around its enterprise operations raised eyebrows and got people talking about the potential for Apple to penetrate deeper into this segment.
Mobile devices, of course, were first to enter the enterprise, with the Apple Watch and other wearable technologies considered next in line by many analysts. But according to reports Wednesday (Nov. 11) in Computer World, the next Apple device to land at the office could be Apple TV.

Reports noted that with the latest generation of Apple TV, the device now includes the Apple TV App Store. Like app stores for other platforms before it, the Apple TV App Store is filled mostly with consumer-facing apps like games and entertainment streaming services.
But analysts anticipate this to change just as it has to help other devices gain traction among employees and their employers.
For example, reports noted AirPlay is a tool that could make the Apple TV a corporate presentation tool. The device also supports Apple’s MDM capabilities, which allow corporate IT departments to manage all of their mobile devices through a single portal.
Reports also pointed to the security features of the latest Apple TV that are robust enough for corporate use, and other features that allow the device to be customized by corporate IT departments for professional use, and limit content access on the TV to business-related material. Plus, there are the obvious potential applications of the Apple TV for enterprise, like signage and advertising.
The adoption of the Apple TV for enterprise, reports said, will likely depend on app development.
