Online commerce portal Ebuyer is entering the world of B2B commerce. The company announced Friday (Feb. 12) that it is teaming up with U.K. financing firm Shire Leasing to provide SME shoppers with equipment leasing services.

Together, the companies are offering an exclusive leasing program for SME shoppers on the Ebuyer portal; they will provide businesses with “the essential tools they need for their company, without having to factor in an expensive cost in one financial month,” the firms stated.

The venture is a mix of eCommerce and finance, with Shire Leasing linking SME customers of the Ebuyer.com site with a program to make monthly payments on their equipment purchases.

This, the companies added, “ensures that businesses can make fixed, affordable, monthly payments, which not only makes forecasting easier but also means that businesses can benefit from the latest devices, software and peripherals.”

Ebuyer and Shire Leasing will provide SMEs with the option to upgrade to the newest model of a product at the end of their fixed leasing term, reports said. Qualifying businesses include those that spend at least $2,175 on their purchase.

According to reports, the British Business Bank backs the financing provided by Shire Leasing; the firm is the largest independent funding house in the U.K. and specializes in B2B financing products.
