Cross-border payments company AscendantFX is taking its B2B payment capabilities to the smartphone.
The company announced news on Tuesday (Sept. 12) that it has launched APay Mobile, a mobile payment app for Android and iOS devices that facilitates international B2B payments. According to AscendantFX, the solution lets managers initiate and approve mobile payments from their devices, gain access to account activity and notifications and track payments.
“We pride ourselves on technology, payment execution, exceptional customer service and being a great partner,” AscendantFX’s President and CEO Jason Mugford said in a statement. “We are very pleased to bring this new app to the market. Creating a mobile app that allows corporate customers to manage all their international payable and receivable needs was a formidable challenge, but one we were eager to take on. As with our other solutions, we’re focused on making our client experience as easy, effortless and convenient as possible, and I think we’ve hit the mark.”
APay Mobile saw a soft rollout in December of last year, the company noted. The Android and iOS app joins other solutions like AFXLink, which integrates the firm’s payments services into other enterprise software tools via API, and AFXOnline, a B2B and B2C online payments platform.
Mobile payments among corporates have been relatively slow to take off, yet they are gradually gaining traction thanks to financial firms like U.S. Bank enabling their commercial cards for mobile wallet use, like Apple Pay and Samsung Pay.
But research released by the NAPCP and TSYS last year found that only 10 percent of professionals surveyed said they were “likely or very likely” to use mobile payments technologies for B2B transactions. Survey respondents identified security as a top concern for mobile B2B payments.
