The Miles Consultancy (TMC) has teamed with Shell for a new fuel management solution that the companies say will help save businesses money and time through new options for electric vehicles (EVs) and tracking business trips.
A report from FleetNews said the new program will encompass a number of various needs: EV charging both at home and on the move; European site network access; mileage tracking in the U.K. or Europe; and fixed prices or discounts at the pump.
TMC Managing Director Paul Hollick said the new solution will aim to allow a company to gain “increased visibility, reduced costs and a fully optimized fuel program,” along with “real benefit and savings” in the long and short term, according to FleetNews.
Using the new solution, drivers will be able to find the nearest station to them and track their business journey while using the app. TMC audits every business trip taken, according to FleetNews, and any anomalies are taken up directly with the driver or line manager in charge. TMC checks every mileage claim, and also work to identify trends and put out various reports to show the fleet’s fuel spend and general performance.
The partnership will also benefit from TMC’s iQ product range, including Fuel iQ, which allows corporations to provide fully expensed fuel cards to employees. The (E)Valuation service, which reviews how suitable an EV is based on business trips logged with TMC, will also be included in the new solution.
The deal comes as Shell has recently launched a suite of eMobility options for its fuel card offering, which lets customers choose a card that can deal in both payments for fossil fuels and EV charging. That lets drivers access over 2,000 charge points in the Shell Recharge and NewMotion public networks and its network of filling stations, FleetNews reported.
Shell also recently launched a suite of B2B options in India to help lower the total cost of ownership for fleet owners.
