Wholesale marketplace JOOR is integrating 3D and augmented reality (AR) technology into its platform through its collaboration with eCommerce technology firm Vntana, according to a Fashion United report on Tuesday (Nov. 30).
The partnership means JOOR customers and retail partners can view visual assets in 3D and AR and upload existing 3D designs to allow them to be viewed on the platform. Vntana uses patented algorithms to optimize and convert files to comply with web and mobile standards. User assets from Browzwear, Clo and other programs can be integrated, the report states.
“3D and AR eCommerce is the future for retail, and we’re passionate about making these performance-boosting assets accessible to every brand,” said Ashley Crowder, co-founder and CEO of Vntana. “Partnering with JOOR is a fantastic way to improve the wholesale experience for the industry as we deepen the brand and retailer relationship while driving increases in sales and sustainability,” she added. “We look forward to working with JOOR on the next iteration of eCommerce in the metaverse.”
JOOR is looking to improve its user experience and increase sales through the use of Vntana’s Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform. The reduction in sample creation will bring about lower costs and environmentally sustainable production, according to the joint announcement. JOOR’s platform will show 3D and AR assets as well as their 2D versions.

In June, JOOR snagged $46 million in Series D funding, in a round led by Macquarie Capital Principal Finance and participation from previous backers ITOCHU Corporation, Battery Ventures and Canaan Partners.
The money was aimed at the advancement of new technologies and solutions for JOOR’s global network of brands and resellers as well as for platform innovation, payments and financing and ongoing expansion across geographies and vertical markets.
