InsurTech Koffie Labs, which works in innovating the trucking and transportation markets, has expanded to Georgia and Pennsylvania and has announced two new distribution partners in Cooper Insurance and Associates and Fleet Risk Management/Assured Partners of GA, according to a press release.
Koffie began underwriting in Tennessee and Illinois in July. The new distribution partnerships will help with the expansions, the release stated.
Georgia and Pennsylvania are logistics hubs in the U.S. and have the fifth- and seventh-largest number of motor carriers, respectively. Koffie is looking to boost road safety in those markets, according to the release.
The company boasts artificial intelligence (AI)-driven predictive models which have underwritten safety features and helped the company build insurance products for new technologies like self-driving vehicles, the release stated.
Koffie is looking to “catalyze” the adoption of safety tech, with incumbent insurers facing challenges as the industry evolves, according to the release.
“Expanding Koffie’s footprint today, and in the coming months, will broaden our impact on road safety through the adoption of technology,” said Koffie Chief Operating Officer Mike Dorfman in the release. “Paired with affordable coverage, our insureds can focus on what matters most: retaining their drivers, increasing profitability and reducing crashes.”

Gatik, for example, has been gaining popularity through its work with the “middle mile” portion of the modern supply chain. CEO and Founder Gautam Narang said the company “operate[s] these trucks for our customers.”
“We handle everything from obviously the driving piece to the telematics piece, making sure that our customers have insight over their operations,” he said. “All those needs are taken care of by our solution. So, it’s not just the technology piece we are building that we’re providing, it’s the full service.”
