The companies say the traditional software implementation business model is in need of an update, and that Commerce-as-a-Service provides that overhaul by letting enterprise customers to continue to invest even in the face of a recession.

Joseph Lee, Pivotree’s general manager for commerce, notes that his company and Spryker are bringing this offering to North America for the first time.

“Our partnership is focused on supporting our B2B customers who have complex ecosystems and requirements, and with Spryker’s platform flexibility and composability along with its robust engineering capabilities, we will enable our customers to accelerate their digital transformation at any point in their journey,” he said.

The partnership with Pivotree marks the third collaboration in the past month for Spryker. On June 21, the company announced a partnership with FarEye, a software-as-a-service (SaaS) firm dealing with last-mile logistics issues.

The companies say the team-up — which integrates FarEye’s intelligent delivery platform and Spryker’s digital commerce operating system — allows merchants to offer a customer experience that can be tweaked from purchase to delivery.

And on July 6, Spryker announced it was developing a B2B purchasing platform for German pump systems manufacturer Wilo as the company shifts from being a product supplier to a solution provider.
