Emburse has joined with Omnia Partners to offer public sector travel and expense management solutions.
This collaboration will make Emburse’s travel and expense management solutions available to Omnia Partners’ cooperative participants, including more than 115,000 state and local government agencies and educational institutions, the companies said in a Thursday (April 13) press release.
“We are so excited to announce our partnership with Emburse through a valuable program awarded by Region 4 ESC-TX,” Doug Looney, senior vice president of public sector sales at Omnia Partners, said in the release. “This new cooperative contract will provide participating agencies with travel expense management solutions that they haven’t had through the program in the past.”
PYMNTS research has found that non-payroll spend management is a labor-intensive — and therefore also expensive — process that is ripe for digital innovation.
To mitigate this issue, many organizations are adopting an automated system with which they can streamline non-payroll spend management and improve financial performance, according to “The Financial Performance Quandary: Leveraging Automation to Better Manage Non-Payroll Spending,” a PYMNTS and Airbase collaboration.
Emburse spend management solutions provide organizations with compliance, visibility and ease of use as they manage employee expenses, process invoices and make payments, according to the press release.
The company’s solutions are already used by more than 500 higher education institutions, public-sector agencies and nonprofits, the release said.
“This agreement underscores our commitment to help organizations whose budgets are under constant pressure to deliver on their commitment to use public and donor funds wisely,” Emburse CEO Eric Friedrichsen said in the release.
Economic uncertainty is inspiring organizations to reevaluate how they use their resources — and giving spend management a closer look — with an eye towards boosting and stabilizing revenues, Emburse Chief Financial Officer Adriana Carpenter told PYMNTS in an interview posted in December 2022.
“[Businesses see] the criticality of enabling technology to navigate and survive what is coming, and what is coming is a lot of uncertainty,” Carpenter said at the time. “The only way to manage that uncertainty is to have plenty of reserves available so that you are comfortable through whatever comes your way. Using technology to drive cost optimization is not only a smart thing to do, but it has also become necessary.”
