Super Dispatch has added a payment feature to its car shipping platform.
The new SuperPay feature allows automotive shippers to pay carriers, who will receive the payment in as little as one business day, Super Dispatch said in a Wednesday (Jan. 18) press release.
“Automotive carriers and shippers work hard every day with no time to waste managing multiple applications for every process, especially the payment process,” Super Dispatch Founder and CEO Bek Abdullayev said in the release.
Reliable and fast payments to carriers are key in the vehicle shipping industry because these small businesses must keep the trucks running and pay the drivers.
Too often, payments to these carriers have been slow, Carpool Logistics Founder and CEO Michael Malakhov told PYMNTS in an interview posted in May.
“A lot of these companies are small businesses, and they need fast cash flow to support their business growth,” Malakhov said at the time.
In fact, Malakhov added, 90% of the carriers are small businesses running fleets of only one to five trucks.
The demand for vehicle transport is likely to grow, Autosled Founder and Chief Revenue Officer Dave Sperau told PYMNTS in an interview posted in April.
It used to be that dealers would go to an auction and leave with a load of vehicles. Today, with many wholesale sales of vehicles being done online, a dealer might purchase 10 vehicles from 10 different locations. In addition, with online sales, more vehicles are being delivered to the consumer, Sperau said at the time.
“It’s created more moves, a lot more logistics and a lot more locations that weren’t maybe served or maybe even visited much — picking up vehicles,” Sperau said.
In addition to integrating and automating payments, Super Dispatch’s new payment feature also streamlines the accounting process by providing visibility into payment status, limiting carrier’s need to contact the shipper, and reducing the need to log in elsewhere to send, receive or view alternative payment methods, according to the press release.
“Super Dispatch changes the game by giving shippers and carriers a centralized location with all the necessary information to move cars, from posting and booking loads to initiating and receiving payments with SuperPay,” Abdullayev said in the release.
