Bitcoin Daily: AS Roma, Zytara Labs Team On Soccer NFTs; Binance Founder To Exit

AS Roma, an Italian soccer club, has signed up for a three-year partnership with Zytara Labs, a blockchain FinTech, CoinDesk reported.

The partnership is worth $42 million and will create digital player cards and other collectibles as NFTs, according to CoinDesk.

Zytara Labs builds products and platforms on blockchain protocols like DigitalBits or Ethereum, allowing NFTs to be created. The team’s yellow and red shirts will feature the branding of the DigitalBits blockchain.

In other news, Binance Founder Changpeng Zhao is planning to step down, so the world’s biggest crypto exchange is looking for a replacement, CoinDesk reported.

“There is always a pool of candidates who could succeed me. We are looking for someone with a strong regulatory background to step in and be CEO,” Zhao said at a press conference Tuesday (July 27), according to CoinDesk, which added that there’s currently no timeline as for when Zhao will officially step down.

Meanwhile, Fireblocks, which helps traditional entities of various kinds enter the digital asset world, has raised $310 million in a Series D funding round, according to a press release.

With the investment, the company’s valuation has now topped $2 billion, the release stated.

Fireblocks’ platform helps digital assets expand into new uses like gaming, nonfungible tokens (NFTs), digital securities and others. The service lets any business begin using digital assets, with the ability to be white-labeled for crypto custody solutions. That way, financial establishments can set up direct custody by themselves, according to the release.

Lastly, Binance’s NFT marketplace plans to team up with the State Hermitage Museum in Russia, intending to issue NFTs based on renowned artists like Leonardo da Vinci, Cointelegraph reported.

The State Hermitage Museum is based in Saint Petersburg, and Binance said the tokens should be available by the end of August, according to the report.

The Hermitage was the one to come up with the idea. Cointelegraph reported that there will be limited edition NFT copies of works like Da Vinci’s Madonna Litta, van Gogh’s Lilac Bush, Claude Monet’s Corner of the Garden at Montgeron and Giorgione’s Judith.
