Lowe’s and grocery delivery firm Instacart have rolled out a new same-day delivery option across the U.S., a company press release says.
Lowe’s will reportedly be one of the first retailers on Instacart’s app to debut same-day and scheduled delivery for large items, up to 3x3x5 feet and 60 pounds. Customers will be able to order small Halloween inflatables, fire pit items and grills, among other things needed for people to start getting their homes ready for the fall holidays.
The release says the partnership began in February in select markets. Lowe’s offers same-day delivery in all 50 states and Washington D.C., and the company also sells non-mixed paint on Instacart, which it says is a rarity.
“Lowe’s knows how much this time of year means to our customers. Whether they are rounding out their Halloween decorating or getting started on holiday prep and gifting, we’re able to offer more products, more convenience and more value for customers as we continue to improve the shopping experience in-store and online,” said Mike Shady, Lowe’s senior vice president of online. “We’re excited to open up this new fulfillment offering across the U.S. for customers to shop for all of their project needs.”
And Chris Rogers, chief business officer at Instacart, said the company knew the changing seasons would see people getting their homes ready for fall.
Lowe’s has recently seen a boost because of a new rewards program, Lowe’s Pro, PYMNTS wrote.

The contractors joining the rewards program were the best earners for the second quarter, which also saw declining revenue and more supply problems. The B2B arm, which sells wholesale to contractors, accounted for 25% of overall sales for that period. Executives said there were other factors helping, including big investments in fulfillment and payments tech.
Lowe’s CEO Marvin Ellison said the company was “actively piloting convenient fulfillment options, including a new pro fulfillment center in Charlotte that offers same day delivery.”
