Shipium and Quiet Platforms have partnered to help eCommerce businesses improve delivery speed, cost and accuracy.
Those that use both Shipium’s shipping platform for eCommerce and Quiet Platforms’ national delivery service network will get two- to three-day shipping and reduced shipping costs, the companies said in a Monday (Jan. 30) press release.
“Brands and retailers need innovators like Quiet Platforms to help reduce the complexity of their supply chains,” Shipium CEO Jason Murray said in the release. “We are excited to complement their ecosystem with logistics technology that ensures customers are happy and operations are optimized.”
While shipping costs have traditionally been taken for granted as an expense the buyer needed to bear, that presumption has fallen by the wayside in the wake of the pandemic, the shift to delivery from in-store shopping and the ubiquity of free shipping, X Delivery CEO Mark Lavelle told PYMNTS’ Karen Webster in an interview posted in August 2022.
“Stop thinking of shipping as a cost center and think of it to enhance the brand experience,” Lavelle said at the time. “And if you don’t believe that, then just listen to your customer who’s telling you that.”
Beyond that, PYMNTS research has found that many eCommerce shoppers are looking for same-day shipping and delivery. Thirty-four percent of all U.S. consumers now order eCommerce products to be picked up in-store, via curbside or for same-day delivery, according to the “Connected Economy Monthly Report.”
Quiet Platforms, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of American Eagle Outfitters, gives brands and retailers access to nationwide delivery coverage through its network, saving them from having to manage multiple integrations, invoicing and contract negotiations, according to the press release.
In the partnership with Shipium, brands and retailers can also deploy that firm’s modern parcel management software, the release said.
