Miami-headquartered FinTech ACI Worldwide, which develops real-time payments software, announced that Swedish payments firm Westpay AB will integrate ACI Secure eCommerce into its payment solution for merchants.
Westpay AB counts leading retailers in the Nordics, including Axfood, KICKS and Elon, among its customers. Integrating ACI Secure eCommerce will help the FinTech process online payments and will support its global growth strategy as it looks to expand into other markets, including South Africa, according to a Tuesday (Sept. 27) press release.
ACI Worldwide recently increased its footprint in Africa thanks to a partnership with the payment solutions provider EFT Corporation, which is integrating ACI’s Fraud Management Solution to protect its customers in Kenya, Ethiopia, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Malawi, Botswana and Mauritius.

ACI Secure eCommerce is a comprehensive payments orchestration platform that comprises an eCommerce payments gateway, fraud prevention capabilities and business intelligence tools.
Features of the platform include the ACI Mobile Commerce Software Development Kit (SDK), the ACI Smart Engage mobile engagement platform and ACI PayAfter, a buy now, pay later (BNPL) tool that connects customers to more than 70 BNPL lenders.
“We are delighted to partner with Westpay to advance the company’s Integrated Commerce offering,” ACI Worldwide Head of Merchant Basant Singh said in the announcement. “ACI has the know-how, relevance and solution portfolio to complement Westpay’s in-store payments offering, helping merchants increase conversion rates and grow their businesses.”
Westpay CEO Sten Karlsson added, “One of the most significant changes during the past years has been the greater adoption of eCommerce and the rise in online shopping. However, the in-store environment is still, for many merchants, the place where most of the transactions occur.”
By integrating ACI Secure eCommerce, “Westpay will combine the areas of eCommerce and in-store — managing payments and consumer interaction seamlessly, regardless of payment method used or where the transaction originated or completed,” Karlsson said. “That’s what Integrated Commerce is all about.”
