Creator-focused eCommerce platform SamCart has raised $82 million in a Series B funding round, the Austin, Texas-based company announced in a news release Thursday (April 7).

According to SamCart, the investment will help the company expand its teams and platform features to meet creator demand in a market estimated to be greater than $104 billion.

“Solopreneurs, emerging, and established creators face many obstacles managing diverse channels while scaling their revenues,” said Brian Moran, the company’s founder and CEO. “As the Creator economy expands and revolutionizes more aspects of commerce, we are the trusted brand to provide a dedicated, creator-centric, digital commerce platform that can maximize and monetize creators’ success online.”

SamCart runs a subscription-based centralized platform that offers specialized tools for digital creators such as sales page design, revenue optimization, payments processing and core commerce capabilities.

SamCart currently supports more than 30,000 businesses and has processed upwards of $2.2 billion in sales to date, according to the release. Creators using its services include including Big Little Feelings and Ali Abdaal, along with Amazing.com, Julie Solomon, Nicholas Kusmich and Yoga with Adriene.

The funding round was led by Eldridge, with participation from TTV Capital, Fin VC, the George Kaiser Foundation and new investor eGateway Capital.

Last year saw Google debut Qaya, a platform that helps creators launch web storefronts to sell their products and services.

“Our project began with a simple idea: creators are the next generation of entrepreneurs. As the CEOs of their own businesses, they need the same commercial tools as any successful founder,” Nathanial Naddaff-Hafrey, Qaya co-founder and general manager, said at the time. “Since we began live testing in early 2021, we’ve learned a lot from creators on Qaya, their fans and other creator economy projects.”

Creators can make Qaya the hub for their business across the web, linking to their Qaya storefronts from their social media accounts and highlighting products and services hosted on other sites.
