Curve announced on Thursday (Jan. 12) that it launched Curve Rewards, a loyalty program, and that it has partnered with more than 50 U.K. retailers, including Marks & Spencer, House of Fraser, Boots, Waterstones and more.
According to a press release, with the rewards program, Curve users will get up to 5 percent cashback on their spending at the participating retailers.
“For the first time in the U.K., we’re seeing a payment card and loyalty card combined into one digital wallet. We’re excited about working with merchants to make it easier for them to launch loyalty programs to their customers, and we’re equally excited to make it simpler for our users to earn rewards on their spending, allowing them to get more from their money — without changing their bank,” said Curve CEO Shachar Bialick.
According to the company, Curve Rewards are different from other loyalty schemes in that consumers can earn Curve Rewards with any card they select via the Curve app. The points are applied to the Curve Rewards account instantly, which is different than other rewards programs. Curve Black cardholders will earn up to 5 percent on their spending at participating retailers, while Blue cardholders will earn up to 2.5 percent. The company said cardholders can earn additional Rewards Points by referring friends to the Curve platform. For each referral made, both the parties will earn £5 of credit onto their Rewards card in the app. Consumers can spend their Curve Rewards points wherever Mastercard is accepted. Curve Rewards retailers today include a number of High Street retailers, business services, restaurants and hotels. More merchants will be added as Curve expands its Rewards program beyond the U.K., the company said in the release.
