American Express has unveiled its inaugural Membership Week, an event that will include experiences and offers in dining, retail, entertainment, wellness and travel, according to a Friday (June 4) announcement emailed to PYMNTS.
The event will span between June 14 and June 18. Experiences and offers will be unveiled during the week on American Express’ social platforms and on a dedicated page on the American Express website, the announcement stated.
American Express is collaborating with brands like Equinox, Calm, Momofuku and Resy to reveal experiences, drops and offers for card members, according to the announcement.
As part of membership week, Momofuku Founder David Chang will have a private digital class for 100 card members. Programming also includes guided meditation from Calm and workout classes from Equinox, the announcement stated.
SZA will also be performing for an American Express UNSTAGED with SZA streamed event. Card members will have free access to the virtual experience, which will occur on June 17, according to the announcement.
In addition, card members will get different perks at the U.S. Open Championship at Torrey Pines Golf Course this year. Card members can also tune into American Express Radio to follow the action, the announcement stated.
Moreover, New York or Nowhere (NYON) Founder Quincy Moore will also curate a “limited-edition travel-inspired capsule collection” in conjunction with card members by way of social media. The capsule collection will be curated live and will be available only for card members, according to the announcement.
American Express is also teaming with Conde Nast, Thrillist and Vox to provide card members with more experiences and opportunities, the announcement stated.
“Part of what makes our brand so special is our community of card members,” American Express Chief Marketing Officer Elizabeth Rutledge said in the announcement. “To thank them for making the choice to be #withAmex and placing their trust in us every day, we’ve created Membership Week, celebrating their passions all week with unique experiences and relevant offers.”
The news comes as American Express joined forces with Centr, Chris Hemsworth’s health and fitness app, to provide card members in Australia with a complimentary one-year subscription to the service, PYMNTS reported.
