ProPay, a TSYS company, has thrown its weight behind Samsung Pay.
The company announced yesterday (April 5) that it has added Samsung Pay to its payments solutions suite in order to provide its merchants another mobile payment option. This means that ProPay merchants with the latest version of ProPay JAK, plus the mobile app, can accept Samsung Pay mobile payments.
“Small businesses value ProPay because of our great rates and diverse set of payment-acceptance choices,” said Dave Duncan, president of ProPay. “From our Virtual Terminal and Email Invoicing offerings to our mobile payment options, which now include Samsung Pay, ProPay is best-suited to meet and surpass the needs of small merchants.”
ProPay touted Samsung Pay’s ability to work with a majority of the merchants on the market today as a reason for its support, which has also been Samsung’s claim to fame in the mobile payments space. Samsung Pay’s edge in the market is because of its MST technology, which enables Samsung Pay acceptance at just about every terminal that today accepts any mag stripe or EMV card without merchants having to change anything at their points of sale to accept payments made using it.
And for merchants who have ProPay’s updated card reader and app, they can immediately begin accepting Samsung Pay since it is an “out of the box” supported solution.
