P97 Networks, a mobile commerce platform, has partnered with Viva Energy Australia to roll out an app for fleet managers and drivers, a press release said.
The app, called Shell Card Go, will provide fleet managers and drivers with contactless mobile payments, letting authorized drivers pay for fuel at Shell, Liberty and Coles Express sites, and allowing users to find stations, view site details and earn rewards, also easily accessing their transaction histories.
The release said the app also lets Viva Energy interact with customers through digital marketing and offer discounts, promotions and messaging.
“As a leading Australian energy company, Viva Energy aims to provide fleet managers and drivers easy access to fuel stations and contactless payments,” says Ash Harris, head of Shell Card at Viva Energy. “We chose to work with P97 Networks because they are a market leader and recognized for their ability to process mobile payments, integrate their technology into complex POS [point of sale] systems, and influence driver behavior.”
The release noted that Viva Energy supplies around a quarter of Australia’s fuel requirements. It’s the exclusive supplier of Shell fuels and lubricants in Australia.
P97 is a mobility services platform that integrates its tech with various parts of Viva Energy’s retail network, including NCR POS, QuickFuel POS, Beacon POS, EdgePOS and Viva Energy’s outdoor payment terminals.

The mobility services platform, according to the release, supports the connected economy and tries to work with the issues around the new connected economy.
