B2B performance marketing conglomerate Adventrum has acquired eCommerce platform Web Retailer, according to a joint press release issued Tuesday (Jan. 11).
Web Retailer serves as a resource for small- to medium-sized businesses (SMBs) selling through online marketplaces, including Amazon and eBay, and it helps more than 1 million visitors every year with guides, news, ratings and reviews of everything related to selling on online marketplaces, the release stated.
“Web Retailer will be a splendid addition to our growing B2B lead-performance sites portfolio here at Adventrum,” said Adventrum CEO Kristoffer Lindström in the release. “It has a clear focus on the eCommerce niche, which we find highly interesting. The previous owner has done tremendous work growing the site into a leading resource for online business selling, and we are excited to bring our expertise to grow and expand the site further.”
Lindström said in the release that he is happy to partner with advisory firm FE International on another acquisition.
Web Retailer Founder Andy Geldman will now focus on helping other businesses with their content and eCommerce setups, according to the release.
“After 18 years of running Web Retailer, I’m excited to announce that my business has been acquired by Adventrum,” Geldman said in the release. “I am looking forward to leveraging my many years of experience in the eCommerce world to help other businesses in the industry.”
