After a much delayed time period after its initial announcement two years ago, Discover card shoppers can rejoice.
Samsung Pay has officially brought Discover card into its services, and consumers with accounts can now pay for items through the mobile app’s contactless payment option.
Discover shared that support for its card on mobile payment app Samsung Pay would be made available in 2016 but failed to deliver, which created issues with cardholders. What some are pointing to as the reason behind the delay is retailers not having activated their near-field communication systems that are generally used to secure payment details.
While there has been no announcement by either company, a Samsung customer service representative has shared that the Discover card is now a payment option. It’s likely that an official unveiling will occur within the next few weeks.
