Eventbrite has added Instant Payouts and Tap to Pay to its event management and ticketing platform.
These features aim to provide event organizers with enhanced financial flexibility and operational efficiency, the company said in a Tuesday (Jan. 16) press release.
Instant Payouts and Tap to Pay are currently being rolled out to eligible organizers in the United States and are expected to be fully available nationwide in the coming weeks, according to the release. The company plans to make them available globally by the end of the year.
The Instant Payouts feature is designed as a solution for the 72% of event organizers who cover costs like venues and vendors upfront, leading to cash flow challenges, the release said.
Integrated with Stripe, Instant Payouts allows organizers to withdraw funds from ticket sales before the event, with deposits arriving within minutes, for a small fee, per the release. This feature provides organizers with more control over their finances, enabling them to plan better events with earlier access to sales proceeds.
Eventbrite’s new Tap to Pay feature caters to the growing popularity of cards and digital wallets, according to the release. By eliminating the need for card readers, Tap to Pay allows event organizers to accept cashless payments, both at the door and beyond, without any additional costs.
This feature is integrated with the Eventbrite Organizer app, providing a comprehensive view of event sales and attendee interactions, the release said.
The benefits of accepting tap to pay, and contactless payments in general, are proving a boon for both consumers and merchants, PYMNTS reported in August.
With this technology, consumers save time at checkout and merchants benefit from quicker turnover at the register, which in turn boosts revenues. The contactless transaction is also more secure than the swipe-to-pay method.
“With the addition of Instant Payouts and Tap to Pay to its toolkit for event organizers, 2024 is shaping up to be all about getting event organizers paid faster and more efficiently,” the press release said. “Eventbrite is doubling down on its commitment to providing organizers with essential tools to effectively manage their events and drive exponential growth.”
