Credit card and point of sale (POS) processor Green Payments is launching its new Dealer Genie program, which is intended to offer automotive dealer merchants control over internal processing while providing customers with an overall improved experience.
The new processing program provides customization that was influenced by the disconnect in consumer payment acceptance and automotive dealer standards and uses direct feedback from clients, according to a press release Tuesday (Aug. 2).

Automotive firms are different than most retail outlets in that they often require multiple touchpoints with a customer before securing a sale. Furthermore, most payment processing companies have minimal ability to customize the handling of multiple department transactions that take place over more than one visit.
“Many of our sales representatives have worked in the automotive industry before, which was a huge help in the early stages of Dealer Genie’s development,” said Green Payments CEO and founder Cliff Green.
“We listened to clients and our salespeople to create a white-glove, completely custom ecosystem where automotive merchants who require a seamless process have complete control over every step of the process, internally and externally,” Green continued.

Dealer Genie is built on a proprietary payment solution with a cloud-based, PCI-compliant platform, according to the release. The solution empowers corporate controllers and office managers to fully customize the POS and reporting processes for each individual department in their dealership.
Important information, including RO, stock number and employee ID, can be added to checkout screens and included on daily batch reports.
“So many of our routine headaches switching from one department’s tracking numbers to another on the backend have disappeared thanks to Dealer Genie’s tracking system,” said Debra Riggione, manager of Cortese Auto Group.
Headquartered in New York, New York, and founded in 2014, Green Payments has worked with more than 10,000 businesses, per the release.
