It looks like yet another senior Neiman Marcus exec has decided to move on down the road.
Chief marketing officer Wanda Gierhart has announced her intention to depart, the third of such high- profile departures in the last several months.
Gierhart officially intends to “focus on other interests and pursue different opportunities,” according to an email sent to employees by Neiman’s CEO Karen Katz.
“She has committed to staying with Neiman Marcus Group as we work through the transition,” Katz said, adding that no departure date has been set.
Gierhart has been part of the team at NM since 2008 – and has had a central role in building the high- end department store chain’s eCommerce and millennial audience.
“During her tenure, our marketing and creative team has responded to ever-evolving technology and the growth of social media to ensure Neiman Marcus Group remains at the vanguard of how our customer shops today,” Katz said in the email.
The departure comes as Neiman has lost several key executives and has reported two consecutive quarters of sales declines. Those falling numbers have led to staffing cuts and delayed plans for an IPO.
