The mobile proximity payments firm SimplyTapp said Monday (Oct. 24) that it has launched Gane, a new app that offers a range of functions, such as instant access to funds and tap-and-pay POS functionality.
Gane, available across Android and iOS, also lets users collect and apply discount offers, the company said in a release. The app, in addition, interacts with chatbots that are embedded in Messenger and Telegram social messaging platforms, initially, with additional platforms expected in the future.
In a statement, Ted Fifelski, president and cofounder of the firm, said: “By combining the most important mobile payment services into one experience, Gane is the first app that is truly responsive to the needs of consumers. The slow pace of traditional banking doesn’t fit in with the quick pace of life today. By bringing offers to consumers where they are — their smartphones — and facilitating real-time money transfers and offer sharing, we bridge the divide between their digital and physical worlds, improving the customer experience.”
Technology used by Gane includes host card emulation, said the firm, which allows for card information to be passed through an encrypted server.
