Walmart is heading back to the live-shopping well later this month with the help of Food Network star Ree Drummond.
Drummond and her daughter Alex will show off some of their favorite products from Walmart’s Pioneer Woman Collection in a live-stream shopping event on Facebook, scheduled for 5 p.m. EST on Thursday, May 27.
“Live Shopping combines the fun of live video with the convenience of online shopping and offers businesses the unique opportunity to connect with their customers in a truly engaging format,” says Nada Stirratt, vice president of global market solutions for Facebook in North America. “We’re so thrilled to work with Walmart on their upcoming Live Shopping stream, which will feature the latest products from Ree Drummond and create an entertaining environment to engage with their shoppers.”
“The Pioneer Woman” is the name of Drummond’s Food Network show and overall brand. Walmart says “viewers will also be able to engage directly with both Ree and Alex by asking questions during the event, learning some insider information as Ree shares the inspiration behind some of the top Pioneer Woman Collection products and give viewers a chance to purchase items exclusively available on during the Walmart Shop-Along experience.”
This will be Walmart’s third live shopping event. Last year, it held a “Holiday Shop-Along” with the help of several TikTok stars, who shared some of their favorite labels on sale at Walmart just ahead of Christmas.
That was followed by a similar event last month timed to coincide with spring fashions. In both cases, Walmart managed to attract TikTok luminaries with 3 million to 4 million followers. Drummond, meanwhile, had 6.6 million followers on Facebook as of Thursday (May 20).
