On-demand home services platform Handy announced it is teaming up with BJ’s Wholesale Club to offer professional television mounting and installation services.
“With more retail shopping happening online than ever before, we’re excited to provide Handy-powered TV mounting installation services to BJ’s members shopping on BJ’s.com,” Handy CEO and Co-Founder Oisin Hanrahan said in a Tuesday (Feb. 9) press release. “Through this partnership, Handy is providing world-class home services to match the quality and ease of shopping on BJs.com.”
Handy was founded in 2012 by Hanrahan, Ignacio Leonhardt, Umang Dua and Weina Scottand, and is headquartered in Manhattan. It connects people looking for household services with pre-screened professionals at a fixed price.
Aside from TV mounting services, the company offers home cleaning, smart home setup, furniture assembly, and more. Handy partners with national retail brands and is available across the U.S. The on-demand platform and gig marketplace was acquired by ANGI Homeservices in 2018.
“We’re committed to providing our members unbeatable savings and convenience in an easy one-stop shop. Our partnership with Handy is yet another way that our members can get more value out of their BJ’s membership when they shop on BJs.com,” Chris DeSantis, senior vice President, GMM, sundries and services at BJ’s Wholesale Club, said in the release.
BJ’s Wholesale Club is headquartered in Westborough, Massachusetts and operates 221 clubs and 150 BJ’s Gas locations in 17 states.
In December, Handy partnered with Lowe’s for the professional installation of doors, lighting and more. Home improvement projects have been popular during the pandemic. The online home remodeling platform Houzz saw a 58 percent increase in home improvement project leads.
Outdoor projects have been especially popular, with pool supply distributor Poolcorp seeing its stock hit an all-time high in 2020.
