Product protection platform Mulberry has introduced a new app in the Square app marketplace to provide customers of merchants using the point-of-sale and payment processing platform with extended warranties and accident protection, according to a Wednesday (Oct. 20) press release.
Square sellers can download the Mulberry app and begin offering product coverage — the first-ever product offering fully integrated in the Square platform — to customers with a single click, according to the announcement.
Mulberry plans cover various products, including appliances, electronics, furniture and bedding. Long-term protection against manufacturer defects is available, as well as accidental coverage for repairs or replacements in case of unintentional damage.
Mulberry’s machine learning technology identifies which products can be covered and shows appropriate protection plans, according to the release.
Consumers who buy a Mulberry protection plan will receive service from Mulberry’s customer support team and can file claims through a digital claims portal and automated claims process.
“When done right, product protection programs give people peace of mind to shop confidently,” said Mulberry CEO Chinedu Eleanya. “Mulberry is thrilled to be bringing our shopper-friendly product protection programs to the Square ecosystem with a seamless integration process for sellers.”
