Walgreens Retail Pharmacy USA Reports $27.2 Billion In Sales
Walgreens Boots Alliance, Inc. reported as part of its Q1 fiscal 2021 earnings that its Retail Pharmacy USA segment had $27.2 billion in sales, representing a 3.9 percent increase from the year-ago quarter, with the inclusion of “store optimization programs” revealed in the past. The healthcare retailer said total prescriptions filled in the quarter increased 1.1 percent compared to the same quarter a year prior.
Bed Bath & Beyond Nearly Doubles Digital Sales Even As Brick-And-Mortar Tanks
Bed Bath & Beyond reported that digital sales increased by almost double during its fiscal Q3 even as overall sales dropped 5 percent and the firm lost in excess of $75 million. The firm reported that comparable digital sales for Q3 jumped 77 percent throughout all of its brands, with the inclusion of 94 percent expansion at its flagship Bed Bath & Beyond brand.
Digitally Native Mattress Firm Resident Raises $130 Million
Resident, the digitally native mattress and home goods brand platform, notched a $130 million investment led by Ion Crossover Partners and Nexus Capital Management, with the participation of Baron Capital Group, in Q4 of 2020. Resident Co-Founder Ran Reske said in an announcement that the “capital infusion is a testament to our accomplishments, market positioning and momentum in a competitive and visible category.”
