KimChi Chic Beauty Makeup Line Debuts at CVS Stores

CVS

CVS Pharmacy is bringing Bespoke Beauty Brands’ KimChi Chic Beauty line of products to at least 139 of its U.S. BeautyIRL locations, according to a Wednesday (April 6) press release.

The partnership expands the reach of KimChi Chic Beauty, which launched in 2019 with a focus on beauty for all in celebration of drag queen, Instagram sensation and “live-action anime character” Kim Chi, the release stated.

The KimChi Chic Beauty collection includes lip glosses, pressed pigment duos, concealer, cream eyeshadows, blushes and bronzers, liquid lipsticks, lip liners, pencils and powders, corrector palettes, lip mask and scrub, glitter highlighters, liquid liners, glitter cream eyeshadows, setting powders and more, according to the release. The entire line is vegan and cruelty free.

“I am so excited to bring KimChi Chic to CVS,” Chi said in the release. “CVS customers will be able to experience the shimmering and blinding shades, luscious lip colors, and products in-store and transform themselves into magical goddesses.”

In February, CVS Health said it is planning to spend up to $3 billion on “technology and digital enhancements” to improve the consumer experience and community locations, noting that its business related to the pandemic — including tests and vaccination shots — are expected to dip.

CVS said it conducted more than 32 million tests, administered more than 59 million vaccines and, as a result of that activity and traffic, added about 37 million new customers in the two-plus years since the pandemic began.

Now, the challenge is to keep that large new base engaged and coming back again. More often than not, the answer points to increased digital connectivity.

“Our digital capabilities for health interactions such as COVID testing and vaccine, prescription services, and sales of health and wellness products, have dramatically increased consumer engagement across all CVS Health businesses,” CEO Karen Lynch said at the time.
