Buy now, pay later (BNPL) provider Klarna has expanded the availability of the search and compare tool within its app to the United Kingdom, Sweden and Denmark, following the launch of the tool in the United States in October.
The new feature, which helps consumers find the best deals for any product, builds upon Klarna’s acquisition of the comparison-shopping service PriceRunner, which was completed in April. It gives consumers an alternative to Google and Amazon when they are shopping online, Klarna said Monday (Nov. 14) in a press release.
“For Klarna, today’s launch is a major milestone in our evolution from a payment network to a single shopping destination that covers everything from inspiring product discovery through to delivery tracking, digital receipts and seamless returns,” Klarna Co-founder and CEO Sebastian Siemiatkowski said in the release.
With the new intelligent search and compare tool, shoppers can filter the search results by color, size, features, customer ratings, store availability, shipping options and other characteristics, according to the release.
The search results are listed in price order, so consumers can quickly spot the best deal. If the price of an item has fluctuated, the range of prices is displayed so that consumers can determine if they might be able to get a better deal later, the release stated.
At checkout, the tool searches for and applies any available coupons that are available for the products the consumer has chosen, per the release.
“Klarna’s new search and compare tool does the hard work for consumers and compares thousands of websites in real time to ensure they have all the information they need to make informed and confident purchase decisions,” Siemiatkowski said in the release.
As PYMNTS reported Oct. 19, this tool was one of five new shopping features Klarna began adding to its app and website at that time.
Other new offerings include shoppable video content, a donation feature, a CO2 equivalents (CO2e) tracker, and a platform that connects creators and retailers.
