Swap.com on Thursday (Jan. 6) began working with FIND.Fashion visual search to give shoppers an experience rooted in artificial intelligence and combining data with emotion recognition to search millions of items.
“Some shoppers aren’t sure exactly what they want, they just know Swap is a good place to find it at a great value,” said Antonio Gallizio, board member and chief commercial officer at Swap.com, in the joint announcement. “Adding FIND.Fashion visual search makes it easier to find what they want in that moment, and it makes the shopping experience easier, faster and more engaging.
“We know this because buyers that use the search walk away happier with their purchases and find more products on our site that they inevitably buy,” he said.
FIND.Fashion technology prioritizes emotion within the user’s actions instead of relying on text-based entries or historical data that can be skewed by changes in tastes and seasons. It removes the requirement for shoppers to describe what they want and uses intuitive visual search to give hidden gems four times more likelihood of being found.
“We’re thrilled Swap.com customers are enjoying FIND.Fashion visual product search with emotion recognition and that we’ve been able to help the company exceed its eCommerce goals in such a short amount of time,” said Heikki Haldre, FIND.Fashion CEO and co-founder, in the joint announcement. “There is no doubt visual search is blowing text search out of the water.”

In October, shopping optimization platform Fast Simon, formerly InstantSearch+, debuted the AI Visual Discovery Suite, allowing shoppers to use images from their smartphones, Instagram accounts or store catalogs to get instant matching results in a single click.
Visual Discovery automatically identifies all objects in an image, allowing merchants to “complete a look” for consumers, also increasing cart sizes and conversion rates. Fast Simon’s AI Visual Discovery Suite adds software integration to eCommerce and a dashboard that provides detailed analytics on shopper engagement, conversion and average order value (AOV).
