Nordstrom has made three executive leadership appointments within its merchandising and store organizations.
Among these appointments is a newly created role: president of Nordstrom Rack stores, the fashion retailer said in a Wednesday (Sept. 13) press release. The chosen executives will begin their new positions immediately.
Jamie Nordstrom, previously chief stores officer, has been appointed as the new chief merchandising officer, according to the release. Nordstrom has held leadership positions across the business during his 28 years with the company. He succeeds Teri Bariquit, who retired in August.
“We’re confident Jamie’s proven track record and experience will bring us even closer to our customers as he leads our merchandising organization into the future,” Nordstrom President and Chief Brand Officer Pete Nordstrom said in the release.
Fanya Chandler, who was most recently senior vice president and regional manager of Nordstrom’s Southwest region, has been appointed as president of Nordstrom stores, per the release. Chandler has been with the organization for 32 years and has held several leadership positions. In her new role, she will oversee the strategy and execution of Nordstrom stores.
“Fanya is a proven leader who has taken on numerous complex assignments throughout her Nordstrom career, including growing our digital selling and styling programs and overseeing Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack stores in the Southwest region,” Pete Nordstrom said in the release.
Gemma Lionello, formerly senior vice president and regional manager of the company’s Northeast region, has been appointed as president of Nordstrom Rack stores, the release said. Lionello has been with Nordstrom for 35 years, serving in several executive positions. Now, she will oversee the strategy and execution of Nordstrom Rack stores.
“Her depth of experience leading teams within our stores and merchandising organizations will be critical as we build on the positive momentum we’ve seen in our Rack business and continue to execute on our strategy,” Nordstrom CEO Erik Nordstrom said in the release.
Nordstrom, which is known for its high-end products and customer service, has been adding new locations to its Nordstrom Rack off-price retail concept, PYMNTS reported in April. The nine additional locations will introduce new customers to the concept, reinforce the company’s network, and offer online order pickup and return services.
