Urgent.ly, the roadside assistance platform, announced news on Tuesday (April 3) that it partnered with Uber to provide roadside assistance to its drivers at a discounted rate.
In a corporate blog post, Urgent.ly said that thanks to its quick response times and digitally connected nationwide service network, it can help Uber drivers get back on the road if they experience a breakdown. Uber drivers who purchase roadside assistance using Uber’s just-announced Uber Visa Debit Card will receive a discount on the service. When announcing the new debit card, Uber said drivers pay $0.49 a month for four roadside assistance services from Urgent.ly.
“We’re incredibly excited to be partnered with Uber; the alignment between our platforms and services is incredible. In partnering with Urgent.ly, Uber can expect fast, digital, loyalty-generating service experiences for their drivers and Uber Visa Debit cardholders,” said Urgent.ly CEO and Co-Founder Chris Spanos. “The Urgent.ly platform powers these partnerships and experiences all across the globe, and together with Uber, we’re pushing the rideshare and roadside industries into the future.”
According to Urgent.ly, through its service, the company will digitally connect Uber drivers and partners with the nearest available, qualified service provider. Drivers will receive live updates and can watch in real time as their towing or roadside assistance help arrives on the scene, similar to how Uber riders can track an Uber driver en route. Urgent.ly said it has the largest digitally connected service network, with 45,000 roadside assistant service vehicles, a 24x7x365 customer support team, live tracking and real-time status updates.
Earlier Tuesday (April 3), Uber announced its new branded debit card — exclusive for drivers and delivery partners. In addition to getting a discount on Urgent.ly roadside assistance, drivers and partners can access cash back and discounts at the pump, at retailers and other participating partners. Uber partners include Advance Auto, Exxon, Jiffy Lube, Mobil, Sprint, Walmart and Urgent.ly.
